My UFC 109 Predictions

Its surprising that 99.9999999% of my blog entries haven't been about the UFC or other MMA fightse/events. I guess I usually make those on iB but as of late I havent even been doing that too often.

Anyways, here are my predictions (I only write about the fights I care about):

Couture vs Coleman - I just dont see Coleman taking this unless he lands a lucky shot on couture and knocks him out. Not really his style nor is this likely to happen. They are both great wrestlers but I will give Randy the advantage only because he is a much better over all fighter. I see conditioning being a big factor in this fight too. My prediction is TKO in Round 2.

Nate Marquardt vs Chael Sonnen - Im not entirely sure why Nate is having to fight Chael. I mean, I know they want to feed him a fight before he gets a chance at Anderson or Vitor but Jesus Christ, is Chael really going to be a challenge for him? Lets wait and see. I say its over by the second round, again TKO

Mike Swick vs Paulo Thiago - If this was before the fight between Jon Fitch and Paulo, I would have said Mike will take this easily, but Paulo surprised me and has been doing pretty well in all of his fights so far and so you have to give him a chance in this. I just see Mike being more dominant and faster with his striking. I see this going to the distance though.

Damian Maia vs Dan Miller - Now this is one fight Im really excited about seeing. Both have excellent ground game, obviously Maia being the better of the two however Dan has much better stand up and can drop Damian to get the stoppage so lets see what happens. I predict Damian via submission. Not sure what round.

Matt Serra vs Frank Trigg - To be quite honest, I dont really care too much for this fight but I dont mind either guy so of course I'll give them enough respect and mention them on my oh so holy blog lol. I think Matt will get the better of Frank unless Frank comes in better shape than he did in his last fight. Realistically, either can take it and I wont be hurt by either person winning.

Phillipe Nover vs Rob Emerson - I like Rob Emerson and have liked him even more since he KO'd karo's cousin Manny but I like Nover a bit more and want this kid to do really well in the 155 weightclass division. I hope he takes this!
